At Upper Ferntree Gully Primary School we see Physical Education as a vital and integral part of a child's education. Our Physical Education program promotes the development of physical competences, self-esteem, decision-making, communication skills, teamwork and joy through lifelong participation.
Children will participate in a range of activities encompassing the following areas:
All children need to develop self-awareness. Physical education can play a vital part in this process by providing a range of experiences in which children become more conscious of their existing and potential physical capabilities. By developing physical skills, children gain self-awareness and confidence, which will help them make the most of life's opportunities.
All classes are designed so that all children are involved in activities that allow them to remain continuously active. Children will attend weekly specialist Physical Education lessons.
At Upper Ferntree Gully Primary School all students in Year 5 and 6 have the opportunity to participate in Interschool Sports, competing against other schools in the Sherbrooke District.
