Our camping program begins in Year 1. Students in Year 1 attend an evening dinner and movie, the year 2 students stay overnight in our school library, the highlight of the overnight stay is riding billy carts down our corridor.
Students in years 3 - 6 attend school camps. The camps alternate between city, adventure and beach camp locations. The camps are designed to assist students to develop their personal and interpersonal skills, working collaboratively and cooperatively with their peers and to challenge themselves. It is important that children are prepared for camp by doing activities at home such as learning how to run the shower, organising their clothes, packing their bag etc. These activities will develop their independence and make their camp experience more enjoyable.
Excursions and Incursions
All excursions and incursions are carefully selected to support and enhance the curriculum in the classroom either with a whole school focus or at the level. They are designed to stimulate the interest of the students and to help them make connections in their learning. All excursions require a permission note which will be made available on Compass.
All students have the opportunity to be involved in an intensive swimming program each year. The classes are held in an indoor heated pool. Advance notice will be given.
We have many other opportunities for students to learn new skills and participate in activities beyond the classroom.
